My files don't show up in searches on
 

Hi,
I'm put some DJ mixes of mine into my shared folder and they appear in the library. I've entered all the correct meta data. But when I go to my computer at home and search....none of my files show up. When I go to another computer on the network they do show up.

any ideas?

There is no point in showing your own files in a search, If you are as stupid as me you'ld probably end up downloading them :D :D

If you type in your own ip no into Direct connect, with luck you WILL see your own share., but all files will have a green tick to say you have got them:)

I want to make my files accessible to everyone out there, but they can't download them if they can't find them!

I did read you post, and I'm not deaf .. You said " But when I go to my computer at home and search....none of my files show up" and I kind of assumed this was where you were sharing from, your wording did not make it clear.


There are things like firewalls (about which I'm no expert) which can affect what can be seen in searches, and there is no certainty that anything will show up in all cases.
Also it is possible to repeat a search many times for something which was there all along. So after several attempts you may succeed.
