corruption detected
 

I use this to download songs. Most songs download just fine but others have problems. A message box pops near the end of the download and indicates that the file is corrupted sumhow. Then it asked if i'd like to continue the download anyway, yes or no. Clicking no simple disregards the file and i'm forced to search for another but clicking yes allows the file to complete. However it will not play and it says that the file is 30 mins long when in actualality it is no more than 4. WHAT IS GOING ON?

1. Am i downloading a virus?
2. What makes a file corrupt?
3. How do i fix this?

What version of LimeWire are you using

There are some corrupt files though I haven't seen one in a while I have never DL a virus in a mp3 format. And as far as I know they do not exist I could be wrong here but if I am, I am sure someone will correct me.There really isn't anything you can do about corrupt files I just discontinue the file and try to find another one.

interesting. it seems to be tied with certain files. i download a song and it's corrupt then search for another DL of the same song and vertially all of them are corrupt.... it's quite frustrateing. But thankx anyway

I used to have that problem, but then I clicked download anyway and checked the remember answer box. It seems that the rest of the time, the file will download, and correct the corruption during verifying download stage. It might need to restart the download at 98% or something during verification, but it usually will be corrected and finish properly.
