Is there a reason I don't see any of my files when I do a search for files I am sharing? Does this mean noone else has access to them either?

If you click on Tools>Options>Sharing you'll see the path to where all of your shared songs are stored.

Yes, of course I know how to see what I share. But the question remains, why don't I see my files when I search for them?

There would be little point in having your own files show up in a search, as you would not want to download them.

You can however search for your own ip address in Direct Connect and you will hopefully see your share as it would appear to others. This normally works after a couple of tries.
