What is "waiting for busy hosts"?

Why does a search result even show up if the file won't even be accessable to you?

For example, I found a search result of some video from my favorite football team, and it just says "waiting for busy hosts"

If there is not enough sources to download the file, why does it even show up on the search results?

And if only one person in the network has the file, is there a way to ask him/her for it directly?

Which brings me to this point, I created a video file on my computer. I then put it in my shared folder, knowing that I am the only person with that file, yet someone uploaded it.... Why did they not get a "not enough sources" message?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!

Hosts go on and off line and regretably some only stay online for a short time. Often you will make a search and a host will show up with files and by the time you start to download the host has gone offline.

Sometimes you can make several attempts to download a file that is "awaiting sourses" and eventually the host will start to download with no problem and I have known this to sometimes take HOURS .. I have no explanation!

There is no way really to ask directly other than by using the chat function, but that is more often than not totally unreliable.

Your chances of making a successful download are increased if you are sharing a good number of files and you have chat enabled (enabling chat seems to make it easier for someone to browse you I can't really explain that either!).

If I am about to switch off for the night and I see someone start to upload, if I can browse them and see that they have a decent share, and I really couldn't care what it is I will do my best to see they get the file. If I can not browse them or see they are not sharing(appparently) I will probably switch off... It depends on my mood really ..and I think many people possibly take the same approach. It is not really a fair approach, for many reasons, but at the end of the day ....we are all human!

A certain ammount depends also in both hosts having correctly configured firewalls, and so on. If there is one file on the network and some one wants it and someone is prepared to share it the transfer will happen, but if one of the hosts is not correctly set up, due to poor management or intentionally there will be problems.

Sorry I've waffled on a bit but I hope it helps a bit!
