Question about Limewire closing

Here's my problem:

Whenever I start dowloading files, and then leave my computer for a long period of time(sleep, go to school, etc) and leave Limewire minimized in the system tray, when I come home and move the cursor towards the Limewire icon in the system tray, it just dissappears. I then proceed to click on the Limwire Desktop icon and when Limewire loads it shows that none of my downloads have made any progress. Most of the downloads are either tv shows or movies, and they are now almost impossible to download without staying at my computer the whole time. Anyone know why this is happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What type of internet connection do you have? Do you have an always on like broadband? Or a regular ISP like AOL/MSN you might automatically get disconnected when there's no browser activity for a long period of time and sometimes the hosts do go offline themselves.

I have a cable internet hookup. What I forgot to add was that I've been able to this before (leave system on overnight, and everything was downloaded in the morning), but ever since I downloaded the latest version I've been having the problems.

That was a problem a coupple of versions back but I haven't noticed it with4.9.30 are you running 4.9.30 or a earlier version.

I'm running 4.9.30.

It did it to me again last night. I had been on and off the computer all night checking the progress of the downloads, and they had been working fine(although a little slower than normal). I last checked in at around 10:30 pm and only one download had been completed. I then minimized it to the system tray and told it to close when all transfers were completed. When I woke up this morning, I moved the cursor towards the icon in the tray, and like many times before, the icon dissappeared. I proceeded to click the desktop icon to open Limewire, and when it had loaded it showed me that none of the downloads had made any progress since my last check last night.

Could you check the connections next time and see how long you have been connected. It may be disconnecting in sleep mode it did it to me today. I thought they had that fixed but mabey not.

The only p2p app that I ever was able to stay online with for long periods of time was Bearshare. LW has a habit of disconnecting if you dont watch it closely.

There are several that have no problem staying connected and this is a recent problem with LW. I have never had this problem with any p2p program staying connected. I have had problem with Internet staying connected especially when I had AOL dial-up but not a software issue. And they will get this fixed I know they are working on it.

im on LW right and its slow for me at the moment, could be too much traffic. I just notice sometimes if I start a music download then walk away and come back it hangs or gets disconnected and I just upgraded to the newest release. I shouldnt disconnect on cable, very strange. I wonder if idle is the problem with this? Even though your downloading?

My guess is yes. I know they were working on it.

It didn't happen to me with .29 I thought they had it fixed
