Hi, I'm a long time user of lime wire and this is the first time
i've had this problem. I've just switched to a new computer so I downloaded limewire and it was working fine. Then i go to download a music file and the download goes fine. Then as it verifies the content it ells me that the file is corrupted. Then when i try to play it, the music file doesnt play! AHHH! Is there anyone out there who can help me? thank you for any responses.:)

unfortunetly there isn't much you can do about corrupted files on the P2P network except keep trying. Unfortunetly, most users never check their files they are downloading/sharing to see if they are corrupt. Happens to everyone. ;)

Yes iknow that something like that can happen but this is on every file i try to download. Ihave tried every file i could find and it still won't work.

If you are downloading recent popular tunes there are a HUGE number of corrupt files out there. I downloaded a few recently just out of interest and over half were useless. Try a few obscure old songs and see if you still have the problem. If you've tried all this ummm I'm not sure ... Which version of Limewire exactly are you using?

What makes a file 'corrupt'? I had downloaded a song before and the pop-up box came up that said it was corrupted. So for the hell of it, I decided to finish the download anyway. After it was done, I scanned it for viruses(it was clean) and played it. The song sounded fine. There was nothing wrong with it.

I think some corrupt song files just have a second missing off the end. I am not sure how Limewire decides what constitutes a corrupt file.
