Not sure I understand your question? If you can try to resume it then its not lost. Keep in mind its hard to resume at top speed because the host that you are downloading off of needs to be online at the sametime you are. Speeds very and are never the same at any given time.

Hello Benjaminp,

I have had the same problem, waited as long as you have on many downloads, and that's with a 'better than T3' connection! I know your frustration and can readily see that your request for help has not been met yet.

I got some, though not full, satisfaction from some assistance that Lord o' de Ring gave at this thread, though even some times after using that method, it still doesn't resume at even the perecentage at which that last save of backup files was made. Almost always, for me, it starts at 0%, not 10% or 20% or any other %. His recommendation surely made a difference on all those losses I regularly experience, still, though is not always the solution. Give it a try for all it's worth, it's helped me.

I am guessing the last time you shut LimeWire down the file was at 20%. From my own experience LimeWire or any other P2P software I have ever used does not auto save data when you shut it down manually it will save the data you DL to that point.

When you lost power LW was not able to save the data due to the sudden system shutdown. It is just like if you were in the middle of a e-mail and you lost power when you reboot and return to your e-mail it is gone.

I do allot of large spread sheets with office and luckily office has a auto save feature which I have set to run every 10 min. Thus if I have a sudden power loss I will not loose all my work. It would be nice if P2P software had a feature like this but I do not think it would work very well because when it is saving it has to stop the DL to do so thus the connection would be lost.

Any way if I was on dial-up I would shut LW down occasionally thus saving the progress to that point.

Personally, thats what resume should be for but I have yet to be able to resume files in Limewire. I usually have to start the dl over again to let it finish.

Surely, by now, you've read the post from Lord o' de Ring at the link I provided? Following his manual instructions is as close as you'll get, and you won't get there at all until you put the suggestion to use.

And you've done the most obvious thing too, back up the backup files?

Often, throughout your download.
