I'm not a windows person, but I can't help thinking they cant be found because they are hidden. .......Why are they hidden ... From my Windows days I recall that hidden files were strange things you never needed to look at   <and a little curious>

Hidden Files

Guys

Windows hidden files are "hidden" for a very good reason, they interact with various system files to make windows work. If you start messing about with hidden files, and you don't know what you are doing, you could render your PC system inoperable, which could/will lead to a full windows reinstallation.

Leave "hidden" files alone.

They are video files . Not related windows hidden files.

Do these files work ... can you play them? are they in a normal video format? I just don't understand why they are hidden.

Guys I must admit they are adult videos so they must be hidden cuz I share my computer with someone and they work well also :)

Ok I wasn't trying or expecting to pry that out of you :D

Are you sure they are not being shared?

If you go to direct connect and type in your own ip number you should be able to see to view your share. You might have to try a few times, but it usually works.
You may see your hidden files, but perhaps if they are hidden in your computer they will also be hidden on Limewire so .....

Explanations

I must admit, you have made your query more difficult than it should be, if you had explained that you had hidden some files on your PC but wanted to share them with LW then you would have got the answer/suggestion that may have helped.

In the distant past I had to make some files invisible to the casual PC users, the way I did this was by putting all my files into a designated directory/folder then setting the folder's attributes to "Hidden" (see attached diagram).

Once a directory is "hidden" it will not appear in windows explorer and you cannot use the "Search" facility to find it so you must make a note of it's name and path. Also, no program can see or use the contents of your directory/folder once it is "hidden".

Now here is the tricky part, the only way to I know of to "unhide" the directory/folder is to open a DOS window and remove the "hidden" attribute, e.g. C:\> Attrib {Directory name} -H

in my diagram's example: C:\> Attrib CD Burning -H

The idea being, when you want to hide your directory/folder you switch the hidden attribute on and when you want to use your directory/folder you switch the hidden attribute off.

Hope this helps.
