Default ARGH!!! 214MB download screws up@ 175MB

Downloading 214MB file. Have dialup so a lot of time spent downloading to get to 175MB. Start up Limewire after 8 day holiday. It goes back to the start!!!!! ****ING HELL!!! There is a 175 MB file sitting in incomplete files, right click>resume, still starts at 0%!!! File (.zip) won't open either. Can i prevent this becoming a very big waste of time? Limewire 4.9.30 BTW.

Why oh ****ing why does Limewire do this?

you're not gonna get a response with that kind of attidude. It is NOT limewire doing it but Gnutella and the users/hosts you are downloading from. go read some sticky notes please? They will help you. no point in ranting about something that has nothing to do with the app. did you config your setting properly? are you hiding behind a firewall? what OS are you using?

Sorry dude, but its pretty damn annoying. Win XP SP2. Yes firewall but its been fine up until now? Just looked at Maximizing upload/download Success LimeWire thread, did what it said there, no good for this current file.

Heres a tip, LW resume seldom works, if you turn off a download or walk away or leave it running then it might not startup again. The hosts/users go offline. Seriously, read some of the stickys, they are full of useful info. They only thing to do in LW might be to try and redownload it. If on dialup, downloads can take even longer if the host goes offline. How many sources are you getting when you try to resume??? Id say go redownload it via Bearshare if all else fails. Personally, I have yet to resume a file in Limewire basic.

Right... its resumed probably 10 times on this file alone. I'd usually be downloading from 2-3 hosts, getting 5KB/s which is pretty good, there were over 40 possible hosts.

welp, you can keep trying the resume to see if any hosts are online at the sametime you are. Have you ever tried logging in during a peak time when more users are on? in bearshare they have a feature to let you lookup the orgin of the hosts. not sure if LW has that, havent looked for it. problem is, LW has no push feature.

But that isn't the problem - it just goes back to the start. It finds 2 hosts and starts at 0% rather than the 80% it was at last week. There is a 80% file in incomplete downloads, right click that>resume, it still starts at the start.
