Searches positive, but downloads are not
 

Searches come back with numerous hits, but scrolling pointer over each one indicates nothing about the file (ie. resolution, length of playback). Trying to download these files does not work. The only sucessful connection and downloads occur when the pointer indicates info about a particular file.

That means the file (which is music right?) doesn't have any id tags. But that shouldn't make any difference to your downld success. What will make a diffrence is how many people are hosting that file (under the # column), & how many star rating it is which represents your chances of a successful & continuous connection. It is a pity more people don't put efforts into applying id3 tags to their audio files.

However, I suspect I know what you mean. I have come across files from other clients that don't show bit rate, etc. or any id3 tag. Right-click on the top of the column of the search results & choose to show vendor/version. This will show what client the person has. Chances are they don't use LW. And some of these other clients are almost impossible to downld from. Some of these client programs don't behave properly within the gnutella community.
