I know that I am getting a connection, but when I click on a song that I want to download it won't let me. At the top of my screen across the bar it reads "enabling open information sharing." If you have any advise as to how I might be able to figure this out I would love to hear from you!!!

I tried the steps you recommend, but my version, 4.2.6 Pro, does not have "Basic" as an option under Searching. How else can I perform this fix? thanks,

Also, try this: Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 in Fixes for Limewire (sample at bottom of page.)

I tried to delete the Limewire preferences, but I don't have that file. I have a .360Share folder located where you directed me, but it has a lot of stuff in it. Are you sure I dhould delete it?

Um 360Share is a clone of LW. Found on this list: Known Scam Sites

I can't speak for 360Share as I don't know what changes they've made to their program. They may have added spyware, adware, junk, etc.

The official LW can be obtained from here http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml & is FREE (unless you get LW Pro.)
