How Ironic trying to steal something and getting a Virus imagine that. Try reading the forum rules before you post especially the part right under the heading The Rules

Hmm, and trying to make this a better and safer service is a bad thing?

These people are providing helpful suggstions and feedback to make this a better environemnt for everyone. I'm sorry, Grandpa, that seems like more common sense than your snooty response.

Since most of these viruses are likely unknown to the user, I would like to see an ability to inform (i.e. message) the user about virus laden files, or perhaps even to tag a file. That would help clean up the system.

Well lets see you want to know what software you can steal and not get a virus. Sorry but this forum is about the software it is not the tell me how to use Legal software to commit Illegal acts forum if you want that start your own forum.

If you want to know about viruses on the network then read the Stickies especially the one Warning viruses on the network you should be aware of

And how much do you want to bet that if tink41503 or you had read that sticky they would not have downloaded a file that was 851.7Kb and not gotten the virus.

Now if you wish to talk about illegal activity go somewhere else it is against the Forum Rules.

And if you wish to break the law and you get a virus you deserve it. Don't look for names of files in this forum it is against the Rules

Now why don't you try reading the rules the link below will take you there.

http://www.gnutellaforums.com/announ...p?s=&forumid=7

1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences.

FYI: and posting IP addresses is not allowed and Grandpa is correct, you're using Limewire to steal arent you? and for your info, there IS NOTHING Limewire can do about viruses and your downloading habits, if you get infected, it IS YOUR fault, not Limewire's nor, has it anything to do with the forum. Read the rules and the sticky notes, thats what they are there for.

and secondly, these topics are posted every dam day and we do get tired of hearing the same moans over and over again. You dl off P2P at your own risk. There is nothing anyone can do about the generated viruses.trojans except becareful of what you download and that will be the only advice anyone will give you on here. we dont get paid for helping newbies.

Viruses are away of life on Gnutella now because noobs are so eager to steal whatever catches their eyes. if users were more aware of what they were downloading then the trojans wouldnt generate.

Grandpa, Sphinx

You know, I am sick of newbies trying to do something stupid, downloading a 871KB Norton 2006 AV app, and then try to justify it.

They can't be bothered to read the forum rules, can't be bothered to read the LW manual and can't be bothered to engage some common sense. I mean, it is more than likely that virus writers are going to plant their wares in a fake Norton App.

And you know what really gets me steaming is when you point all this out and the newbie comes back with a smart remark.

G & S, I sometimes wonder why you even bother to try and help these ingrates.

UK Bob

PS. G, I guess this is where your wisdom comes in.
