Is there any way of putting downloaded music from limewire to i tunes and deleting from every other place apart from i tunes and still be able to play them in itunes?

Yes, iTunes has its own Music Library, but you need for them to be physically added to this Library via the proper importing techniques here: How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes) Once the songs are in the iTunes Music Library then you can delete them from LW's downld folder, etc.

Don't get confused with the LW playlist in iTunes. That's simply a playlist which points to the song files in the LW downld folder. The songs need to be in the actual iTunes Library.

Thank you for your reply guys but i have tried dragging and droping the tracks but if you delete them from lw, they will not play in itunes and just cant get them to import.

Play them from iTunes' Library not from the LW Playlist within iTunes.

When you dragged them to the Library icon on iTunes, did you see them copy? If yes, then click on the Library icon in iTunes & find the songs on the list & press play. ;)

If you want to create playlists within iTunes, Press control N & drag the songs you want from iTunes Library into the new playlist icon. There's also smart playlists which are very good.

(I didn't realise Only A Hobo had also responded. lol )

You haven't understood any of our explanations.

Go to LimeWire's menu bar, Tools > Options > iTunes > Sharing & uncheck all options & press the Apply button. Then this will rid of the LW playlist within iTunes so then this won't confuse you.

Go to iTunes menu bar, Edit > Preferences > press Advanced tab & make sure these are ticked: 1. Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library.
2. Keep iTunes Music folder organised

See sample image below to see that iTunes has its own music library & after correctly adding songs to iTunes, then the song files will be added to iTunes music library folders.

They are arranged by artist>album folders.

(At least this time Only A Hobo & I aren't copying ourselves lol )

Can you tell me how to import from my music to i tunes because when i try to do it, there are no tracks show in my music folder for some reason?

Have a look in the iTunes music folder. Use the search engine & type in iTunes music. That will direct you to your iTunes music folders. Then you should know for sure if the music is being imported. Did you look at the tutorial links I gave above. There's a tutorial for iTunes at the apple website.
