I am very upset- was mislead into spending $27.80 I am extremely upset. I went online and using the MSN search engine I typed in: download Excel. I need Excel at home to learn it for work and was looking for a place to download it. I saw something for a site that said: Microsoft Excel - Full Version $27.80 - fullsoftwaredownload.net Download all versions of Microsoft Excel for only $27.80. Download now and get 24/7 full support, extra software and... I signed up through this place and paid the $27.80. Basically it just has you download Limewire. Here is the part that burns me up. (I have been unemployed, am broke and needed this Excel to practice for a new job coming up) I searched for Excel or MS Office on this Limewire. When I downloaded it Limewire said it could not open it for security reasons. I downloaded several different ones and it would not let me do anything with it. I feel lied to. The listing on MSN search said I could download all versions of Excel for $27.80. This is not looking to be true. Please help. This place said that even if you get your money back they keep $9.95 of it. Please help asap. Sincerely, Heather |

Don't feel bad. Google got me here - spent 17.99 for a copy of microsoft office - downloaded 1 copy and McAfee immediately said it was a worm virus. Sadly debit cards don't offer the same consumer protection that a credit card offers so I am out of luck. How are these sites linked? I paid a membership fee at ultimatesoftwaredownloads.com. That fee gave me a page to download Lime Wire. The Help page in the Lime Wire program is what lead me to this forum. So... does Lime Wire have a program in it that does not contain viruses? Should I try to download a different copy? And, why are we all on this forum? What does Lime Wire offer that would keep folks coming back to the site/or using the program? Kym |
Hi kimberlyn, If you were scammed into paying for LimeWire, read this: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=28751 As for viruses - if you get your version from the official site it will be clean. Scam versions are a different story. Read the thread, it will explain heaps. You'll have to decide for yourself whether you think LW is good ;) |
There is a limewire pro which costs about $18, but you download that from their official site. google and MSN search do not hold responsibility for the sites they link you to. |
Thanks for the replies. It turns out that I did pay for the Pro version so the fees were normal. Also, found a great copy of the program that I needed. Who ever shared it was even kind enough to add a note explaining how to register it. What a dear person that was... and what a great program. Kym - now offically hooked on Lime Wire |
