can't open download (incomplete)
 

hi,
i am in the process of downloading,the 3rd of three iso files,
when i opened limewire to continue the download, i got a message saying - sorry can't open previous downloads,
the download was 60% complete,which took three days,
do i have to start it again from scratch !!!! or can i somehow retrieve the incomplete file,which by the way is not in my incomplete file,

That means that either your computer crashed whilst LW was open or you didn't close LW down properly before shutting down computer. Or you accidentally deleted the download.dat & bak files from the incomplete folder, or you changed to a much earlier version of LW.

Whichever one it was, it doesn't matter. It means that although you can resume the files downlding, they'll all start at zero % despite the file size. In order to do this, go to LW's Library window, select the incomplete folder. Then select the incomplete files & press the Resume button.

thank's for the advice, i think your right about my computer crashing, when i start the download again, as you said it will start at 0%, i take it that, that will be for the remainder of that file ?

No. It will be from the beginning. That's because the download preferences have lost their info due to the crash. Thus it doesn't remember any file having downlded anything. :eek: :o
