Ive only been on limewire for a while but in the past few days I have been infected with this worm. Luckily my antivirus picked it up. Now if its that easy to download why isnt limewire and associated companies doing something to reduce the problem????

P2P networking is what is says Peer to Peer, meaning person to person.
You download directly from someone elses computer, so it isn't up to limewire to control what 1 person shares or what you download.

Plus if there were to start 'filtering' for viruses what else would they filter for?

I say it's best left alone!


just be careful, there are losts of posts in these forums explaining how to safely use limewire. ie checking file size...

And this one does now too. :) Ignore files less than 1 MB in size (or 1,000 KB) Most are either spam or virii. See Arrange search results by size (click on link) to help you realise the size of your search results & not get confused.

WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of!

Music files are rarely less than 2 MB. Video files are many MB's.
