firewall appeared suddenly

Recently, I couldnt find a file on Limewire, so I used Ares. I couldnt find it on Ares either. But when I restarted Limewire, it suddenly decteccted a firewall. Before, this was not a problem. I followed the directions on the windows firewall on the official website and i configured norton to work with limewire. My search and download speeds have been comprimised. Help me out please.
