RealPlayer

Hello, just downloaded LimeWire basic today, and video etc, but when I want to play the video, Real Player tells me it has to download new software for this video, then reports that there is no software update from Real to support this content (detail message box reads: ICMXVID. I have updated Real, but still no luck. I am running XP. Any help much appreciated:p

If it won't play it's usually because your missing the right codecs to play the file or the file could be corrupt. Try Using a different media player. VLC Media Player comes highly recommended has the codecs built in and will play most file types.

okay, So When I First Downloaded Limewire, I Could Download The Music(song) And Then Tranfer It To My Realplayer Player (there Were The Realplayer Sign Next To The Songs That I Downloaded Too)
The Next Day I Downloaded Some Songs Again Only This Time It Won't Transfer To My Realplayer Player...... And It Doesn't Have The Realplayer Sign Either.... Help.... I'm Getting Really Frustrated Because I Finally Downloaded A Song That I Looked For In Such A Long Time.... Help....

Sounds like RealPlayer's not your default any more. If you change it back to being the default player, you should see the Real icon next to your songs again

How are you moving songs to R/P? Do you have it set to automatically add from LW? If you do, just make sure it's looking in the right folder. Try changing the time (eg if you've got it set to search every 60 mins, change it to every 15 mins & see if that gets things moving):)

Try just going File > add file to library. Add 1 file & see what happens.
Or, go File > scan disk for media. Try to add that way.
It's been ages since I used RP but I never had any probs with it not adding songs. Just make sure the songs you're trying to add are in a format that RP will play (Tools > preferences > media types > select. Configure it from here).

Please don't post your question twice, it gets confusing!

Or, go File > scan disk for media.
i did that and it did add my songs to Realplayer, but i still don't understand how to change my default player back to realplayer.... can anyone please reply back with step to step directions... thanks...

1. Open your saved folder outside of LW
2. Right click on a song > open with > choose program.
3. Highlight RP, tick 'always use the selected program to open this kind of file'.
4. Click 'OK'.

That should do it!

ok i had the same prob as stellastar but when i downloaded vlc media player nothin happened,i still cant play anything.wat gives?

Star j, are you trying to launch/preview within LW? For some reason (I wouldn't have a clue why) VLC won't preview or launch a movie within LW if you're using Windows. If you open the file outside of LW, it works fine. To preview, open your incomplete folder outside of LW & preview that way.

:)
