Download - No response

Hi, I am using LimeWire Basic 4.10.5. When I complete a search and select a song to download, nothing happens. I have tried double clicking, right mouse clicking, using the download button, reinstalling LimeWire and still this problem persists.

I have Windows XP SP2 updated and current, registered legal and my firewall is Zone Alarm and it is set to allow all LimeWire connections.

Help me if you can!

Might be a license issue:

Thats waht said man. The file I am downloading in plain, I selected all the correct options too. The issue is probably software related, possibly my O/S. I was hoping others may have encountered this and found a solution. Oh yeah "only a hobo", if you can't contribute positively, just don't man. You're a downer dude!

Birdies link was to a thread about licence problems. You said the file had no licence, and I assumed ... that probably in your arrogance, you didn't bother to read it.
I've been around here long enought o know this is a very common problem , so I just wanted to check with you before goung off on other paths of inquiry.

However I can''t be assed. so I hope you sort your problem out wiith no help from me .. arrogant sob Talk about f*&^%$ing downers

Phill,
Hobo was suggesting you read the link because so many people don't. The license prob is the most common cause of download failure & so it's what is always suggested first.

I think you owe Hobo an apology. He was contributing positively, you just interpreted it wrong. Please do the right thing & show some respect for people who are going out of their way to help you?

As for your problem, make sure your maximum downloads aren't set at zero (tools > options > downloads. Change if need be & apply). Try deleting the preferences folder while LW's closed. Instructions here:

*If you're running ZoneAlarm, hope your XP firewall's turned off. The 2 together will cause problems.
