Stop Freeloaders

Can anyone tell me how to stop freeloaders (users who dont share files) from uploading my files?

Your sentiments are admirable, however there are many threads on the forums which you will find by using the search button above right .. look for Freeloader ... or Leech

What has been fairly conclusively proved is that it is almost impossible to know who is and who is not a freeloader.

If I find someone is uploading a lot of files from me ... and none of my files is very popular, and I search for a few files I feel that host might be hosting, and find none. I might, depending on my mood, decide he is a freeloader. I might however find all the files he has just uploaded being shared from a different ip.
in other words the only way to tell if someone is a freeloader is by pure guesswork. You can ban Freeloaders in the Host Filter, but must remember that many hosts use varying ips and next time you see them they will have another ip and will not be banned. My latest banning was of someone who queued 600 files up .. the reason I banned sheer greed and stupidity, and most probably a freeloader too. If he wasn't a freeloader and he had had that done to him he'd know what a pain it is to have your monitor jammed up with so much stuff.

And what about the next poor dynamic ip sucker who adopts that ip & finds they can't connect to some people. That's something I have against banning ip's. It's not as if even government or companies use static ip's. Banning a range of them will no doubt affect some innocent victim, who just happened to accidentally have an ip in that range (or specific one as suggested earlier.)
