Hello all
I am running WinXP sp2 (yes, I know, poor me) and have been able to set up LimeWire (4.10.5 Basic) for each of the local users on my computer. I am wondering how I set up LimeWire so that the files I have started to download (but have not yet completed) appear on a per-user basis. That is, in the download area user 'X' sees only the files that he/she has started to download, and user 'Y' sees only the files that he/she has started to download, but the two users do not see the files that the other has started to download. By default, this list is contained in the \incomplete folder as a download.dat file I think. From what I have read, there is no way to specify this location (and hence, build a separate download.dat file) for individual limewire users on one computer. Please correct me if I'm wrong and tell me if/how it can be done. In this particular case, I have one computer with multiple users, not a network of computers all sharing Limewire from a server. Thanks Neil |

Each user should have a separate log in name. Then they'll have a separate user account on the computer. Only those with admin rights on the computer will be able to see others accounts. This is the normal way of doing it. Thus, the downlds, incompletes & user preferences will all be by default in each user's own account area. eg: the default downld location is C:\Documents and Settings\"your account name"\Shared
Preferences will be C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire OR C:\Documents And Settings\your_username\Application Data\limewire The incomplete folder is always within the same parent directory as the downld folder. Unless you split the downld folder media types or all save to the same location. Better to keep them to separate locations such as default. |
