Default Can I download "wmv"-files as movies?

Hey there,

I'm new to LimeWire. I used to use iMesh but I hated the new version of it, and therefore it's LimeWire for me, now!

But I would like to know if it's possible to download wmv-video-files here at LimeWire? I searched for videos allready but I don't see wmv-files... These are very interresting because they use less MB than MPEG-files...

Can somebody solve my problem? Thanx!!

Unless they've taken the option out in the new version, then yes you can downld wmv files.

Some video downld tips: 1. Movie download issues

2. Learn to use Bitzi Lookup to see if there's been any user feedback for that particular file; How to use Bitzi Web Lookup ...

3. Cant search well help; finding particular types of video files.

4. If you have problems viewing files, get VLC - (click on link) _ (choose nearest mirror site) as it has in-built codecs & is generally very reliable. Can downld extra skins for it. See what it can do here http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html

When I search for movies, I only get files of the type mpeg, mpg, avi, and asx... but no wmv.

Try typing in the title followed by wmv, eg: billy - wmv or billy.wmv

I did hear a rumour LW was going to stop importing of wmv files because it's such an abused format. So many spammers & diallers use this format to trick people. What you should know about WMA/WMV Files & also autogenerated spam results

Hi Ben T. Ley,

In the newer versions of limewire wmv files are filtered by default. Go to Tools>Options>Filters>Keywords> untick the box "Ignore .wmv/.asf files" then if you still want to filter asf files just add it to the keyword list then click apply.

LOTR your slipping.
