download ability very poor
 

i'm using limewire pro , got windows xp, using a broadband connection and am getting poor rates when downloading. For example i could be dopwnloading from around 10hosts and still only download at a rate of only 1kb/s even when the connection to the network is very strong. I have also got a lot of movies waiting to download but most need more sources. I know already that sources may be not adequate so i've downloaded more of the same file from different sources to allow for this but still having problems as many need more sources.

Question - is there something that i can do to overcome this prob or is it somehting that is out of my hands?

Even though download speeds are very dependent on the sources, there was such a problem that was fixed in the latest version.

Check your Pro download page to see if you are using the latest version (4.10.9), currently).

i'm using lime wire pro 4.10.5

but plz expand upon what the problem was in the earlier version that was similar to the prob i'm having plz steif

it might be the fact that i have the same prob!!

So, this doesn't look like your problem, since you are already using the fixed version.

well i've read some more posts on other boards related to lime wire pro and come to the conclusion - don't buy lime wire pro!! stick with the basic.

p.s. i wonder if the limewire team are lapping it up somewhere nice n hot with everyone's cash they paid for pro?

Really? Doesn't sound realistic (I use both Pro and Basic).

Maybe a hacked Pro causes troubles, but not the official one, and this is the best forum for LW info.

Try downlding a magnet link file from here http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml
See what speeds you get. If you have a fast connection but only get slow speeds in this case, then it may point at your isp filtering p2p or specifically LW. Who is your ISP (internet service provider)?
