download folder

The default folder is a "shared" folder which I no longer want to use since it is kind of tiresome to be cutting and pasting to where I want the downloaded files to be. When I try to select "my music" folder, in "my documents" folder, of my profile, I get a popup saying that I don't have permission to use this folder or something like that: "The selected folder to save is not valid. It is possible that you don't have permission to write on the selected folder. LimeWire will go back to the folder previously selected."
What does this mean? How can I fix it?
Thanks beforehand.
Camilo

yeah!

I got the same stuff. Problems I had I had to find myself. It was a few things at different times. Try disconecting Lime from internet in file tab/disconect. Then look at your anti-virus or anti-spy programs. They can block file to file changes. I just shut down the internet and security program, then change the file. If it doesn't work with security off, check the properties of both folders. They may be disallowing it by default. Like for instance XP won't let me into my userdata file which is empty nor can I delete it. I figure it out in a day or so. Acces denied means acces is denied by your system so if you recently quarantined something from that folder your security or spy sweeper program may have blocked the folder for limewire especially if the the quarantined file came off of limewire. Then some programs do see limewire as a spyware program so make sure you have limwire.exe as allowed in your security settings.
That is all I know from my limited experiance hope it helps.
Shaun
P.S. Oh make sure you reload or re-enable your spy and security programs. I forgot once and was fixing bugs for weeks. :( :)

I tried both options. The Internet Security and Antivirus software wasn't blocking the program. And I view the properties of the folder I was trying to use, which is "My music" folder, under my documents, and I didn't see anything irregular. Thanks very much anyway, I just decided to create a new folder in a more convenient location.

different folder

So did I. I hope it works better for you. I put a folder marked 0music in C:\ so it is the top folder in the most convient spot and a shortcut to it. I have them for movies, Kareoke, whatever. You should still be able to gain access to your music folder to move or delete files. If not how do you know you don't have a virus that will spread to other folders.
I found spyware that locked me out of my own folders. But I guess you are here so you know where to get good spyware removers free or cheap.
Sorry I couldn't help :(
