PC Housekeeping

Guys

Back in the day user PC maintenance, such as defragging your HD, deleting temp files, getting rid of unused or unwanted apps, etc., was call PC Housekeeping. It was something you as a user had to do in order to keep your machine's performance at it's peak.

However, it seems that everyone as forgotten that these housekeeping tasks still need to be performed, that's why a lot of users are running into basic problems that, quite frankly, they should not be running into.

I believe that the problems start with the PC makers and the shops that sell them because all PCs nowadays are sold without any kind of guidance or even a basic instruction manual (you get a "getting started" leaflet and thats it). And what is worse, when people start work, especially after a career break, they are just "plonked" in front of a computer and told to get on with it. So basically there is no build up of knowledge or experience in the PC owning population, its just sink or swim.

People today are expected to know how to use a computer, regardless of whether they can or not, hence the basic computer questions we get in this forum.

How do I do that? That's for Windows?

And my system is set to defrag every week, so I don't think that's the problem. I just downloaded the latest Basic LimeWire version and I get the disk problem, too. Hopefully what AaronWalkhouse suggested is what is up. :)

I have plenty of HD space, too.

HI!! Can any one plesae help me with this very complicated problem ??

I have a downloaded file at 100% but it's status is "disk problem". I have plenty of space in my 2 disks and have tryed reinstalling limewire and deleting the limewire files in my folder. I have tryed canceling it and cancel the download. I even tryed to cut the conenction to the hosts. This causes me aa real porblem because, with my version of limewire i can only download for three torrents at a time and even we it is delited i can only donwload 2 torrents, the others are queued.

thx i'll be waiting for your tips!!
