No download, yes upload

Hi all,

System version: MS XP,
Firewall: Zone Alarm last version,
Limewire:4.10.9

I am not able to download, although other users can upload from my pc.

Firewall is setted ok, MS firewall is not enabled.

Port verification: ok
Bug verification: ok
Java update: ok

I checked most of the things Lord of the Rings suggests, but still cannot download.

I thank if anybody has got any idea of what is wrong (I was able to download for several months and it just started last february...)

Thanks again.

G

Have you tried resetting your popups to default? It might be a simple issue with the license warning
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...176#post154176

You can also check that your maximum downloads aren't set at zero (tools > options > downloads).

If none of this helps, post back with a few more details, including which fixes you've tried;)

Hi Birdy,

thaks for you reply.
I tried what you suggested: download speed limit:unlimited; I setted the licence pop up correctly.

Anyway, I sure the answer is somewhere there, therefore I am going to post the result of the bug reports:

LimeWire version 4.10.9
Java version 1.5.0_04 from Sun Microsystems Inc.
Windows XP v. 5.1 on x86

What I did?
When I saw I had troubles, I unistalled the Limewire version and re installed again.
In the meantime I cancelled the Limewire preferences (Windows>Documentsandsettings>)as suggested somewhere in the forum.
I tried to check if there is a problem with the ISP (no problems reported and my "speed" is around 1MB-ADSL-verified)

Thank you again for you help.

Cheers,
G

Hi slyg,
Your "recieved incoming this session" is false, means there's a problem somewhere...often a firewall. Only a few people must be able to push through your firewall & upload.

What happened in Feb, before this started...any change in your hardware? Did you change anything at all? Read this thread & just make sure that things are configured ok. Only ever run 1 firewall!
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=51357

What's your connection like? Make sure that if your router uses UPnP, that it's turned on & ticked in LW (tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Tick use UPnP & apply). Sometimes the problem is due to an internal firewall in your router. Does yours use NAT? There's info in the thread. Do the port test & see what your result is.

Tell us your details
OS (Win XP etc)
LW & Java version ( help > about LW & you'll see)
Firewall you're using
ISP
Modem/router brand & model
Connection type (DSL etc)
Where you connect from ( home, work etc)
Do you share a connection with other comps

no dowload, yes upload

Thanks Birdy,

I tried the test of the port and it worked fine.
I can confirm that some users were able to upload from my Limewire while I was trying to sort things out.
I don't understand why I am able to do searches as well, but not able to download.
I use an ADSL connection and my speed currently is 690 kbs...

I have Microsoft XPHome edition, service pack 2.

Java Version: 1.5.0_0.6
LW:4.10.9
Firewall: ZoneAlarm 6.1.737.000
Modem:Sagem F@st 800-840

I connect from home and I don't share the connection.

I'll check the other solutions suggested in the thread once again.

Thanks for your help.

G
