Try an experiment. Try downlding a magnet link from this following link site & tell us what happens. Does the same thing happen? http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml

Can you give us a total description of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)?
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
11. Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False?

I have now tried downloading from magnetmix and it is a bit different the speed peeks at 110kb/s and an averege speed at 40-50kb/s with 8 sources.

1.Windows xp
2.Norman internet security
3. 512
4. 10gb
5. Broadband 2048/128
6. Modem: Speedstream 4100. No router
7. From home
8. Limewire 4.10.9 Java 1.5.0_05
9. Internet provider is TDC in denmark
10. No
11. Itīs true

Itīs wierd becouse before this problem started I could download a file with 8 sources and at nearly full speed, But now when I download a file with many sources i cant get it to exide 20-30kb/s pr. download

In advance thank you

Is that Norman or Norton internet security? If you're using such a firewall, make sure XP's firewall is disabled!

I know of a moderator on this site who gets just over 200 KB/s from the magnet link site. So ... why are your speeds dropping I don't know. It should have been reasonably consistent from that site. Have you noticed this happening downlding anything else not related to p2p such as software updates, etc.?

It might be modem related, it might be XP related, it might be ISP related. I'm not sure. I guess to overcome the XP issue if there is one with no. of connections, see http://www.lvllord.de/ or http://www.lvllord.de/?url=tools & consider downlding & applying the patch to increase maximum possible connections.

Its a norman firewall and windows firewall is disabled.
No, my speed test says that my speed is fine and when i download not using p2p thereīs no problem. I think im going crazy, I have never had any problems and sudenly this? What is a normal speed to a populer file? And how many sources is normal for my connection? Is 8 Sources a max or?
