getting movies to burn
 

if anyone is familiar with Nero please contact me at [email]*** I have downloaded movies, and saved them to my hd. I use DVD Shrink, to shrink them to fit onto a DVD + R, however, it shows my audio files as empty. Does this mean that I won't have sound when I burn them to disk? I have the sound after downloading from LW. Any ideas or suggestions?

You Are Using A DVD Ripper To Convert AVI or Mpeg To Dvd ANd The Ripper Doesnt Do That.. Dvd Shrink Is Made TO Only Rip DVD To Dvd Not Avi Or Mpeg To Dvd .. You Must First Convert To Dvd FIrst.. I Used Super Dvd Creator 8.5 To Convert to To Dvd Then Select Burn With Super Dvd Then When It Ask FOr The Dvd Disk In Cdrom I Cancel And Open In Dvd Shrink Because DvdShrink Will Blow THe Video Bigger And Does A Better Job Burning

In a DVD formated disk, the "audio" directory is virtually always empty, dont sweat it.

The AUDIO_TS folder is always empty, but some players still demand to see it if the disk is to play properly. The VOB files are muxed; ie: the video & audio are combined together. The VOB file will contain as many audio tracks as it may use, be that different languages or dolby & pcm & DTS. eg: if you demuxed VTS_01_2.VOB, then you would get an mpeg 2 video file, ac3 file(s), & DTS file(s), etc.

steps to convert avi to dvd and burn
 

step

1. Download and install Super DVD Creator8.5

2.download and install all codecs for media player 8 - 10

3.download and install dvd shrink

4.open Super DVD Creator8.5 and select option MPEG CONVERT
click OK with DVD secleted

5.click ADD on bottem to add the avi or all the avi parts to Super DVD Creator8.5.. if the avi is two parts add part1 then add part2 after you do part1

6.click NEXT STEP on bottm

7.select at top " prefrence by picture quilaty"

8.next down is working folder.. this is the folder the vob files will save in.. i always select a premade folder on my desktop

9.use NO SPLIT

10.click START

11. after it's done close the convert window

12. on Super DVD Creator8.5 select VIDEO DISK BURN

13.click ok with DVD selected

14. DO NOT HAVE AN EMPTY DVD IN DVD BURNER

15.Add the vob file/files make sure part1 is added first

16.click Burn at the bottom

17.when it ask for disk click cancle

18. open DVD Shrink

19 Open The Folder Vob was saved in.. will be another folder inside it with vob and info files... open them in DvD Shrink

20. CLick Back Up And Put Blank DvD In DvD Burner

21. Your done and it will play in any DvD Player Tested And Works Good

Im not familiar with Nero, but I am familiar with dvdsanta...
The steps are so easy with it 1 2 3 and its done...
It will convert and burn many different file types...

The Demo version is a good one there are no time limits and it has all the functions of the paid version, it will however have demo across the top of the screen in the video output, but by zooming in it will dissapear... This is a link to the site...

To buy the software is also very cheap, half the price of Nero...

Dvdshrink will not decode files and neither will dvd dycrypter....
Those apps are mainly used to copy a purchased dvd to a blank dvd....

this moron has no idea what he/she talking about and uses demo software lol and has to see the demo on top and i dont.. but anyhow do as you please lol dont take my advise or do doesnt take no skin off my back.. i told how you i do it.. and i sell dvd's every day ... so yea please talk about something you know dont asume what you dont know.. and dvd shrink is not only to copy dvd to blank dvd lol... once converted with super dvd converter it will have all the vob and ifo files .. there for dvd shrink thinks its a dvd you have decripted and burns it using the dvd format to a dvd.. so try again i hate stupid assuming people

Listen here mate, did I knock your suggestion, and if you want to **** around with all the steps and then still have to go through and burn it with shrink, I know which one I'll use...And how the hell do you know if I use the Demo or not...You smartarse MORON..
I suppose you download and sell illegal dvd's as well, I hope your **** gets busted....

Don't you think it's a bit rude to go calling someone a moron, when they're offering help & advice? WW has raised a perfectly valid point. Why shouldn't someone try out another program? Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's not a good program. It is.

The time may come when you need help & advice from this forum. With that attitude, I doubt that anyone's going to bother. You owe WW an apology.

I want to say Thank you to everyone for the input and suggestions on how to get dvd's burnt. I appreciate each and everyone of your suggestions, comments, and especially your time to help me out. I finally was able to burn my dvd's using Shrink, and Nero. Took me a while and my first video, the previews and the extra scenes etc., are all missing audio, but the main movie has audio. I can live with that.

I feel really bad that I haven't posted this Thank you to everyone before now. I have been having a few other computer problems and I am computer dumb.

basically my view is that banishment is the only real resort to a jerkwad....warnings, attempts at dialogue, etc., are usually totally worthless...of course, warnings are almost always given, but rarely heeded, so they get banned...

this rather hard line approach to things was hammered into my psyche whilst being an Operator on a 9 hub DC network...basically my belief is that the 'real' users need to be protected from such a$$holes, and the quicker, the better;)

:rolleyes: omg dude try it .. dont knock it till you try.. you will see yes its a longer process but will not say demo on top of your screen and burns and plays on every dvd player made even will play on ps2 and xbox.

DVD shrink doesn't convert an AVI either, it purely shrinks the movie and burns it to fit on a 4.7GB disc....

anything wrong with a senior member recommending a freeware program??? (there are ways around that.....)

DVDshrink compresses DVD files...it does NOT recode .avi, mpg, etc to VOB files....which of course you mentioned in your first post in this thread....(and that comment is meant as a soft slap to the face of wondering why, who methinks misunderstood)

seems to me you are just itching for a fight...sure, your 'real' method, which takes 20 steps as you notate, works I'm sure...said real method being using your favorite Super DVD Creator8.5 program, which you stupidly recommend 'downloading'..hmmm....right...yur proposing piracy there d00d, and that is against forum rules...

now, the one great thing about DVD shrink is that one has a great deal of control over just how much compression is used (unlike nero which gives long play and super long play as compression options)....not having used dvdsanta, I can make no statement in regards to its functionality..

in the end, as a noobs guide, wondering why's post is far simpler for the beginner to deal with...I'll gladly give you the fact that your method may very well be the 'better' way to go, but it is also more 'difficult'....and as you were responded to, why get in such a tiff because somebody else recommended a different path? are you so insecure that you can't handle somebody else being right also?...do you always have to be on the top of the hill?:rolleyes: please take to heart that there are those here (which I am among) who are definitely above you on the hill as far as 'power' is concerned...

There are allot of programs out there that will burn and change from AVI to MPEG 2 play on any DVD player including game machines without going to all of the trouble you have suggested. And might I add have been very rude and obnoxious in the process. So pull your head out of your *** and go to the link below get a little knowledge then come back and apologize to wondering why. YES dvd shrink does burn dvd from your computer from the reg. dvd but guess what if you turn avi to dvd will all the ifo and vob files.. then open in dvd shrink it thinks its a dvd your own and saved on your pc hard drive .. so guess what moe used my way and burned .. he also msged me and told me sorry in no way was his fault its these morons that dont understand what dvd shrink does and how it works.. and oh yea i know its against the law and ohhh no i sell at fea market.... but guess what i havent ever been busted and i dont think i will.. but do it you all ways and have the word DEMO running accross your screen while watching a movie... and blowing up the screen means you miss somthing parts in the movie.. because after converting from avi to dvd the screen ratio is never correct and you cant see some of the things in tha back ground because of it.. so fussing at me just shows you know nothing and dont want to learn another way of doin this.. and miss spelling and then fussing at me just shows your ignorance

and peerless if you would read everything you would see that super dvd creator is changing from avi to vob and ifo files.. so please keep reading before you try to insult somone
