files without bitrate -> not able to download Hi, I've a download issue. it seems I'm not able to download files (especially mp3) where the bitrate is unknown or not proper filled in. Is there any way to work around this, because some people are apparently to lazy to fill in the correct bitrate. And why does Limewire make it such a big deal? Why doesn't it let me download files without a known bitrate? Thx in regard. |
There's some Gnutella clients where the bit rate doesn't seem to convert over properly. These clients might be BearShare, ShareAza, etc. Just ignore them & keep searching. You may or may not be able to play files that show unknown bit-rate anyway. I've had that problem. |
So, there's no way to work around that problem? There are quite a lot of files like this :-S I use Limewire 4.10 |
Right-click the top of the search results window bar & a menu will appear. Choose to show Client/Version. Then you'll be able to see what clients are offering the files. With some other clients, they're not always easy to connect to. Some of them connect simultaneously with other networks leaving no upload bandwidth left over for gnutella users. You can try downlding from them, but just be aware that sometimes it's difficult. If they didn't connect to other networks at the same time then fine. Finding sources is the name of the game. So keep searching to see if you can find more people to downld from. |
