aborted downloads

I have tried to down load several files over the last two nights and around half way through. About 45 percent of them get aborted after there more than half way completed.

Is there any way I can restart an aborted file transfer?? This is very annoying to say the least.

thanks in advance.

The reason they're being aborted is LW is detecting a corruption. Normally LW will bring up a warning window. But you have obviously replied No to continue downlding & ticked the always use that answer option. You can change this back by going to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>View>Popups & tick Set to Default & press apply.

The reason LW is detecting a corruption might be one of many. The files you're choosing to downld might be corrupted to begin with ... fakes basically. This is common if they're audio files; see T3 Spammers; mp3 Bit-Rates Versus File Sizes. Make sure the files you're downlding are larger than 2 MB (2,000 KB) or else they'll be junk such as viruses & other spam.

Another reason they might be corrupted is either a firewall or spyware utility or anti-virus program which is not set up (configured) properly.

Another reason for corrupt files is line problems.

Another reason is only a light corruption. ie: someone has changed the id3 tags of the mp3's "after" you started downlding the file so the data doesn't match up. This will normally show errors upon verification stage not mid-way during downlding. AFAIK

Make sure you have at least Java 1.5
