downloads have slowed since changing to pro!
 

I have recently started using limewire pro and have several problems with it.
First of all, my download speed has slowed right down to around 10 kb/s. I have tried deleting the old preferences as recommended in another post but that just increased the download speed from 1-2kb/s to 10-15kb/s.
Secondly. i thought that limewire pro didnt have viruses etc on it? Every zip file I download always has the virus w.32.alcra.f which luckily, my antivirus package catches everytime.
Can anyone help me?

Pro doesn't have viruses, but you are downloading files that are full of them, so you need to learn to find better content. LimeWire doesn't control the content--that's up to all of us who share.

It's like having a really good sound system, but only playing junk music: no good sytem can make bad music sound better ;)

Ah right, i think I'm understanding now!
How do I find better content? And is it possible to see if a file is a virus before downloading it?
