Possibly your being shaped. Who is your isp? There are a lot of bad files(spam) being shared on the network. Keep trying and you should eventually find them. It seems that the newer the files are the more bad/fake files being shared. More info in this sticky: Major Topics for Upload/Download Help

That number represents the total number of hosts available to d/l from under the # column in your search results. Not the number of different files. So if you have 2 files show up in a search and one has 50 hosts and the other has 25, then it would show 75 in the bar above the results. Try to vary your searches by just using certain keywords and not the whole title. Try under all types and then under Images ect.

Not sure about this one but, the more files you try to d/l at once the slower your speeds will be. You should probably only d/l one file at a time. At least until you get your speed problem figured out. Remember you can only d/l as fast as your sources can upload.

Have you tried VLC media player. It has the codecs built in and is very reliable. For more info try here: CODECs list for Movies /Alternate players / Video help forums

thanx for the answer.
but not many things work. my isp is telewest. am a modem user.
and LW seems to be eating up like 80% of my CPU leaving my pc almost disable to do a simple task.

about downloading file at same time
i can't download(succesfully) one file allow cause it will jus stop at a time
and when i download for like a week i come out with half complete file.

the older LW which didn't ask you to install jave seemed to be alright. some window system dnt go very well with jave ( read it from some site). but from what i can read here people seems to be busy d/l.

is it possible to download like 10 file at a time with 96kbp/s each ??
i would really like to download like that. where is it that LW goes at a crazy speed when download a song ( or small file ).

about the codes
i tried k-lite which should play 99% of the movies you download( says the free code home page), i aslo had Divx and cccp and so many more i sometime tried vlc but did make any difference.

i know i ask too much

I know QuickTime has an animation codec. I'm not sure about the other codec packs for such. I'm surprised VLC wouldn't play some. I'd like to know what extension those files have that you can't play. Did you try one of those codec identifiers?

animemanga boy May 31st, 2006 04:21 PM

thats weird. every1 keps on chatting bout VLC while i think it's crap. hey lord of the rings what makes VLC that famous that i can't?? like i download VLC and it can't play some simple file i download k-lite it plays the file. wtf is that and people keep on chatting bout VLC. surely the must be something wrong, is it that am downloading the oldest version ever?(cause the the screen shot reminds me of the 70's) or is it that am doing something wrong.
correct me if am wrong but shouldn't VLC suppose to play file that WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER cnt. where it says " THE FORMAT IS SUPPORTED BUT THE CODE THAT WAS USED TO COMPRESS IT MIGHT NOT"

wat am i doing wrong !!!!??

(to lord of the rings. quick time!!!? thats the worst media player that ever existed!!!) i downloaded it once and it took me ages to get it of my sistem
it keepps on clashing and doing unasked tasks

Fine! Try MPlayer then! Or DivX Player. Most people on windows have their prefered players or player. (BTW VLC comes with different skins & you can downld more but since it doesn't work for you then it'd be a waste of time.) Stick with what works for you.

I'm primarily a mac person & have used macs for 14 years. Though I did program on unix & xenix machines before that. Windows ... well a cop out copycat from mac's unprefered option. M$ has been struggling ever since to make it work properly. lol :D I didn't like DOS or cp/m & these links A, & also B, & also C, & also D. Primitive BS lol :D I did program Z80 chips in those days using electronic programming. Not too hard for that anyway. Depended upon the combination. But a long time ago. :D

Too Many Codec Packs

First no disrespect but I gotta hand it to you Guys for deciphering that! LOL

But I wanted to add that when you install multiple codec pack's like this guy said he did, then your likely to run into Media Player trouble.
Your bound to corrupt one filter or another.

Which is why it's good to"stick with one that works for you".

But if it was Me I'd start all over
I would uninstall all Codec packs then Java & Limewire too.

Then I'd open IE6 if that is the browser you are on & select
TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS/GENERAL TAB/SETTINGS/VIEW OBJECTS & delete all files in there as well!(java,shockwave,flash)

Then run a tool called Cleanup http://www.stevengould.org/software/cleanup/

Once done with that stage I would make use of the GSpot Tool(stand alone version)http://www.headbands.com/gspot/gspot252dl.html
To check for broken or damaged Codecs & remove them.
You can open Gspots help file it will tell you how to remove Broken Codecs.

Then use some sort of cross linked file checker & reg tool like
TuneUp Utilities or Reg Cleaner or CCleaner to try & clean all that mess up.
http://www.ccleaner.com/download/

Now that all that is done you need to ask yourself why 90% of your CPU is being used, well it sounds like it's time for a Online Malware scan at Ewido or FSecure.
Then run Ad Aware! http://www.lavasoft.com/
Then Spybot! http://www.safer-networking.org/en/support/index.html

Afterwards run Hijack-This & save a log file & have it analyzed @
http://hjt.networktechs.com/
There is a HJT-log analyzer there,& it's easy to use.
It will tell you if something is running that should not be.
If so then you should join a forum & ask for help in removing it.
Because something is not rite there Bud 90% !

Once you know your clean reboot & install Javacool's Spyware Blaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
& start reinstalling the latest versions you can get of Java & Limewire.

You say you download Anime & the likes then search for this;
Combined-Community-Codec-Pack
It's supposed to be the best for Anime.
Which ever Codec Pack You use make sure you scan it first as some Codec Packs are dubious.
I personally would use the latest Klite Codec Pack but everyone has something bad to say about all Codec packs,so take your pick.

Then Lastly I'd install Ewido.

Well thats where I would start, good luck!

PS; "This is just what I would try"
Let the critique begin.

No critiques at all. If you're computer savy, it will at least result in a pretty clean machine,.......and what you've said about the codecs is definitely true....
As your choice, K-lite is mine as well......;), and so is Adaware, SpyBot and Ewido....

EvID4226Patch223d-en

Thanx FOTH
Im totaly new to P2P so I dont know no much about it all.
I'm trying to learn as much as I can as quick as I can (doing a lot of reading)
Hey do you know much of the patch that is offered in the stickies ?
EvID4226Patch223d-en
Does it really work?

foolofthehill August 12th, 2006 12:29 AM

Yes it does. I've applied it by myself and I've asked the guy who created it to look into one for Vista as well......but he seems to be busy at the moment and that one won't come out before 2007, I guess.
