virus!?!?!?
 

I was downloadeing when limewire all of a sudden shutdown and now I cant open it and I cant open the limewire folder, or delete it, or right click it or anything. if I try it just gives me that windows error window. which is bullsh*t. any one know how I can fix this?

please help me.

What does the Windows error say? Have you tried restarting your computer to see if LW works then? How many files were you downloading at once when LW crashed?

Thats what it says on the eror window. And Iv restarted already. and I uninstalled LW and its still there. got any ideas as to what this is?

Have you been using LW for a while without a problem, or have you just installed it?

Iv been useing it for years. this is the second serious problem its caused me.

Do you scan downloaded files with your AV before opening? I'd follow Grandpa's advice & go to see Norbie. He'll help you to fix things up & it's all free. Follow Grandpa's link within the thread I posted, it has a link to Norbie's site.

I never opend it. I never even finished downloading the file and all of a suden it shut down. and crap started.

how do I contact these people.

It might've been a file you'd downloaded earlier, don't think it could've been the one you were downloading at the time.

no virus scanner programs are fixing this thing. Iv got a bunch now. does any one know how I can just delete this folder perminitely? keep in mind that it whont let me delete it normaly. I cant even right click the folder any more.

I seem to be having a similar problem as well. LW was working fine yesterday morning and then in the afternoon it refuses to open. For some reason I don't have an uninstall file and it's nowhere to be found actually running. I tried to reinstall it and it says an older version is running. If i ignore it, i proceed with more errors saying that the file is corrupted. I can't delete it, but I can rename it and right click on it. All that happens when I try to open it is, a timer comes up for a second and then nothing! If anybody has a solution please help me out. Maybe the cause of this is the same as what jake's problem is.

First go to Norbie's world and DL hijack this have Norbie check it out. To shut down a previous version of LimeWire follow the instructions in the link below.

the best thing I can say is to get a couple of good antivirus programs, with just about every problem Iv hade involveing limewire, its been a virus. no system malfucnktions or anything just viruses. basterds put em all over limewire.
