downloads do not seem to be downloading

hi, i apologize if this is a question previously asked, i did check, but failed to see this specific question. i have had limewire basic previously and downloaded tons of music with ease. i just downloaded limewire's most recent basic, think it's 4???? when i search for an artist, and click download, nothing is seen at bottom of page to indicate the download is in progress. any tips or advice as to what is going on would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot, burnsie windows xp
