Am a new, new, new user. When downloading a movie, should it be in mpg or avi form?

Either! It depends upon how you want to use it! The most recent versions of Roxio & Nero will burn almost all of those of either one. Earlier versions of those progs may struggle at times with some files.

Perhaps you should see Movie download issues
