Music Download help please!!!

I have been getting prettyfrustrated with this.....

I downloaded Limewire onto my MAC OSX (and I have a Modem internet connection) for the first time last night and it worked great! (It was a little slow- but everything on my computer is slow) I had downloaded 2 songs and everything was fine and then I went to download more and it didn't work! It just stopped working and I didnt even exit the program or anything...

I tried everything! I had at first no firewall up (no wall on the globe) and it wouldnt work still--- It would say "connecting" under status forever and occasionally say "need more sources" or "awaiting sources." I would click on songs that did not have many sources or whatever they are called (i chose ones less than 15-- not many at all) and I tried different versions of several different songs and I tried downloading 1 song at a time and 2 at a time....

I even restarted my computer a few times and nothing changed and I waited one night and tried again this morning and nothing changed. No songs will download. I then tried deleting the software from my computer and clearing it and then I re-installed/downloaded the program. But the same thing happened.... it just says connecting forever.... but not it says I DO have a friewall when I know it is turned off (I checked several times) and the status keeps switching back and forth from "connecting" to "waiting for stable connection." And the progress bar always stays at 0% no matter how long I wait...

(Remember I have a MAC OSX and a Modem connection)
I have tried everything and really want this to work..... PLEASE HELP ME as soon as possible....

One more thing....

I don't know what I did but I tried restarting my computer again and is strated working again! (this was about 2 hours ago) and I downloaded 3 more songs with no problems and then it stopped working again and it is back to how it was and I didnt even change anything! (Also, the firewall symbol in the corner was still there when I was downloading and is still there now that it isnt working again)

I'm really desperate---- Please help! THANKS!
