brick wall in front of earth Everytime I try to download a song, it comes up with the message "Needs more Sources." I've been trying to figure out what the problem is, and everytime someone has a similar situation they're always asked if they have a brick wall in front of their Earth. Well, I do. I know Limewire can work behind a firewall, so I just need to figure out how to configure my settings. Help would be appreciated! |
You really need to include more details about your system. If not then every anwer will be a shot in the dark. 1. What's your connection like - do you have any green bars at all? Is there a brick wall in front of world ? 2. Do this test & see if it works. What does it say ? http://www3.limewire.com:6346 3. What are your details OS ? (Win XP, Mac OSX etc.) LW & Java version ? (In Limewire press Help>about LW & you'll see) What Firewall you're using ? Modem/router brand & model ? ISP (Internet Service Provider) ? Connection type ? (modem, DSL etc) + Speed Up/Down if you know Where you connect from (home, school etc) Are you sharing a connection with other computers Has Limewire ever worked for you ? If so how long have you been using it ? Have you tried using any other P2P apps & if so, do you have the same problems ? Also include any attempts to fix this. It helps people rule things out |
okay well i'm using a Windows XP with the newest version of Limewire, I just downloaded it today. As far as I know I just have the basic firewall up, with a couple of virus protecting softwares such as AVG and the one that Windows provides. |
It's really important that you try to answer as many of those questions as possible |
sorry my computer didn't upload your whole post- yes, my green bars are full. there is a brick wall in front of the world. the test worked. the firewall is just the basic windows one. i am on a network at home, and i think the router could have something to do with why i can't download. i'd have to be told how to fix it though because i definitely have no idea. we use a linksys wirelessG router (2.4 gHz) this is my first time using limewire. |
There is a very good chance then that you have just made a small mistake when installing and starting to download. First of all. Did you by any chance choose to not download without a licence ? That will render most downloads useless. If so go to Tools>Options>View>Popups and check the revert to default box Then press apply and ok then go to Tools>Options>Searching>Basic and uncheck Show Licence Warning Then go to Filters>Content and uncheck contentfiltering Press apply and ok Then have a look at this thread before trying to download anything How to find music :) If your Limewire still doesn't work right then post back in this same thread Good Luck :) |
