Default Can you afford $0.09?

why thanky yuo for your question, i only get this search result everytime i search something, it could be completley random like 'the magic carpet rides again' and you get this buy legal mp3 crap with atleast 100 hits.

doesn't end there, one of my favourite bands is now getting spam results, fake files, its hard to find tracks that download! download lower number of hits you may say, but thats still as bad and fake.

my question is this, what can the creators of limewire do to combat this fake crap which is thrown in the system???

I have been getting those annoying "Can you afford $0.09?" results in my searches with Gnucleus, but not only that, I'm also getting files which look like legit files only to hear some goofball trying to sound like Bill Clinton telling people to go to some lame site.

It looks like Gnucleus has become vapourware so I may have to search for another Gnutella client which doesn't bombard me with popups and banners while putting spyware on my computer. It's too bad because I really liked Gnucleus.

Their file sizes will be different though. With LimeWire you can filter out such results quickly using the Junk Filter. Details of the clinton spam: autogenerated mp3 spam results

I know the feeling. I really like LimeWire (past Tense) I've had to start using Shareaza 2.2.1.0. It's not nearly as good as LimeWire used to be. But at least I do get some real results. It's a real shame but whats a guy to do.

Just do what i did, go under filters and add the key word "0.09?" and no more of that.

Well, I just downloaded LimeWire. It has a nice filter and Junk bin feature, so I'll just have to see how affective they are.

Don't know what I'll do for the Linux version though. Right now, I use GTK-Gnutella when I'm in Linux. So far, I haven't gotten any spam results yet on it.

Keep in mind the Junk filter is a dynamic learning filter. It can learn to filter out well known spam very quickly. But viruses take a lot of persistence to filter out. But it will.
