Downloading problems... Sorry
 

I'm sorry for making a new thread for this and know how boring it must be, but I need help downloading. I have just downloaded limewire today and I actually downloaded two songs, but then earlier today it pretty much stopped downloading songs. It never moved from 0% and was still "connecting." I tried downloading from hosts of 10-20, but that didn't work.

1. What's your connection like - do you have any green bars at all?
Is there a brick wall in front of world ?

2. Do this test & see if it works. What does it say ?

OS ? (Win XP, Mac OSX etc.)
How much free harddiskspace ?
How much RAM ?
LW & Java version ? (In Limewire press Help>about LW & you'll see)
What Firewall you're using ?
Modem/router brand & model ?
Are you using portforwarding, UPnP or nothing ? (Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewall Config)
What is your listening port ? (Same as above)
ISP (Internet Service Provider) ?
Connection type ? (modem, DSL etc) + Speed Up/Down if you know
Where you connect from (home, school etc)
Are you sharing a connection with other computers
Has Limewire ever worked for you ? If so how long have you been using it ?

Have you tried using any other P2P apps & if so, do you have the same problems ?

Also include any attempts to fix this. It helps people rule things out

How much RAM ? how do I figure this out?

Modem/router brand & model ? Speedstream 4100
Are you using portforwarding, UPnP or nothing ? UPnP which is recommended(Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewall Config)
What is your listening port ? (Same as above) Listening port is 45037
ISP (Internet Service Provider) ? SBCglobal
Connection type ? (modem, DSL etc) + Speed Up/Down if you know. DSL
Where you connect from (home, school etc)- HOME

Has Limewire ever worked for you ? If so how long have you been using it? I downloaded some songs so I guess it did work for about 15 mins.

None really except coming here.

If you are fully connected with no brick wall then you should be able to download

Clear all the downloads that are not downloading. Then try searching using the tips in this link. You may just be picking spamresults that do not download.
