why do i keep getting re-directed?

When I try to download certain songs, LW re-directs me to some napster site. why???

birdy August 2nd, 2006 09:41 PM

If you update to the latest version of LW, this shouldn't happen. You can get it here

For more info, use the search button to look for Napster or redirected;)

?

I tried to download from that link and now it's telling me that I'm being directed to a third party...btw, I'm completely computer-retarded! Thanks 4 your help!

Go for the offline installer, people have fewer problems with it:) I just tried it & went straight to a download. Don't worry though if you get redirected to Download.com

spalding1375 August 2nd, 2006 10:22 PM

Will you send me the link again? Thanx!

Ok...now it's just this one song...I'm making an 80's CD, and I have everything but "Tainted Love", by Soft Cell...it's just not gonna be complete without it! And, however many different sources I try to download it from, I keep getting re-directed to that Napster site! I'm screwed, huh?

birdy August 2nd, 2006 10:37 PM

Well, I don't know why this is still happening to you! You're not screwed, just have to find the right file to download;) We're not allowed to mention the names of copyrighted files... just that it's against the forum rules;)

Can you edit out the song title & artist? Thanks!

Try searching again. Look for artist only or album title (if you know it) rather than song title. Also try the All Types search. Stay away from files with huge numbers of sources, go for a file with 10 sources or less. Try cable/dsl rather than T1 or T3.

That worked!!! Thank you!! I just searched the band name and went with cable/dsl, 2 sources!! I've always wondered this....? What do T1, T3, and cable/dsl mean??

birdy August 2nd, 2006 11:04 PM

They're the different connection speed options for LW... modem's the slowest & T3 or higher the fastest. The link below will explain a bit more
