I have about 20 files in my "Incomplete" folder under Limewire folder with designations such as T-88989898 and the name of the file.
Can Limewire "pick back up" or "resume" the download of these incomplete files, or do I have to delete them and start over? Thanks. |

At least from what I've tried... incomplete means start over. Anyway, it is rather unlikely that it would be possible to restart the connection, as a peer to peer network like Gnutella has no main server, but people upload files from other people. So, if you wanted a to resume a download, that other person would also have to be online, which is sort of unlikely.

In regard to incomplete downloads - Spelling Counts!!!!!
Just as in other files in your system, just one character different and it is a completely different file. That is why it would be helpfull to all conected that file names are not changed. Especially with large files. |

I have resumed a couple of downloads. As far as I can tell, it works quite nicely, although sometimes LimeWire seems to bitch around a little, when downloading a file of exactly the same file size and the same file-name. It sometimes starts a new download anyway (usually if I download it from a new host). This will probably improve when hashing is added.
Maybe you want to try the new alpha version from limewire.org, it seems to work more or less and already supports swarmed downloads, although you have got to take care, you download files of exactly the same file-size and not just files, LimeWire believes are about the same. Especially mp3s are often broken by swarmed downloads without hashing... |
