Incomplete files don't show up in LW

Everytime I shut LW and start-up again later all previous downloads never show-up. But if I go to Incomplete Files folder they are all there.. I been having this problem for weeks and it's adding up, Over 200 files and lots of lost space. How can LW be able to retrieve my partial downloads. Example I took almost 2 days to download a movie...its over 500 mb and it was like 85% done before it crashed...I'm not going to start again from zereo !!!! Thanks all:mad:

Have you tried Resuming them....

Resume

How can I resume when I don't see it LW just doesn't seem to retrieve my files in the Incomplete files folder. When i Re-start Lw there is nothing at all to download all erased, but files are in the Incomplete files folder.....

I'm a bit confused (sorry) :o
Are they listed in your incomplete files folder in LW...

Reasons for that happening is usually because LW is not closed properly before you shutdown the computer. More reasons are explained here Downlds refuse to reload (click on link). BTW with LW 4.12, if you resume the incompletes from the library>incomplete folder, then they will continue from % from where they were. This is only the case with LW 4.12, else they will start from zero %.

Oh Well

I guess LW doesn't read them like before I will be the one that will gonna resume them all one by one....thanks wondering why & LOTR

Just curious are you running Windows Vista or Java 6

Lord of the Rings August 10th, 2006 01:49 PM

You don't need to resume them one by one! When you get to the incomplete folder select the 1st incomplete file, then hold SHIFT key & select all the others. Then press the Resume button. You can select multiple files at once by holding down the SHIFT key. ;)

As Grandpa suggested, we need to find out why this is happening to you. I presume you have your LW set to shutdown immediately & not close after transfers have finished. It may be a java issue, it may be OS issue, may be your settings within LW, etc.

Guess who's back !!

Thanks for your help the last time.....I should maybe start a new thread. Lately I noticed after a couple hours of downloading with LW....It just freezes on me and seems to claim I have a firewall blocking LW. I don't. So then I have to close down and re-boot to continue.....Any help

atadir2000 September 11th, 2006 07:58 PM

Anybody There !!

Gotta be someone that can help a bit, or tell me what's wrong......thanks

Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link)

It may be due to you over-using LW such as using the resume/find sources on all your incompletes & either or both your system & modem/router can't handle the extra business.

atadir2000 September 14th, 2006 08:55 PM

I started LW earlier today and left. Came back and did resume/find sources once only. 4 files started to download. 3 came in quickly enough and the 4th kept on DL. 10-15 minutes later another file starts to DL....within 5 minutes after that .... the firewall effect kicks in.....So now I have to shut everything down and re-boot. True that I do several other work while on LW, DL on other private sites, open zip files, mp3-wav files and vice-versa. mix or edit files and chat at times !!. Maybe my system justs run out of breath and resources to keep up !!! Thanks LOTR hope this information may be useful for future references.
