More Sources Needed

Hey guys,

I'm having trouble actually downloading anything after downloading the newest version of the free LW. I can search and find what I want but when I go to d/l it it will always say 'connecting' for a while and then say 'more sources needed.' I dont think it's actually a problem of not having enough files to choose from because I get plenty of results with my searches.

Anybody know what's going on?

A lot of results in searches are for fake files.

AUDIO: I suggest, if searching for audio files, you go for results that show a smallish number of sources, like 10 or 20, or just go for a single source from a modem perhaps. If you can browse the host offering the file you can see what sort of host they are, and they are more likely to be genuine, but if you see they share a great many large files, then you may have difficulty getting a slot from them.

You may need to re-search a few times,

VIDEO: If you are looking for video especially check the file with Bitzi, by right clicking on the file in the search results pane and selecting advanced>look up with Bitzi. This will take you to the Bitzi Site where previous reports, if any, on the file, can be seen. Many good video files can be found in large numbers, and many are not listed in the Bitzi site, but you can contribute your own report. So do not limit yourself to small numbers of sources. It is a good idea to preview video files when they reach about 10%. This can save a lot of time and grief:) Many also use magnet links for video. If you do this you may get a message "need more sources", but searching for more sources often brings results.
Click here for more about bitzi and Magnet links.

Thanks to many fellow members for their input:)

I hope this helps :)

Also I've noticed that if you're searching for music and there's nothing in the length or bitrate column this may happen. Make sure both the length and bitrate column have values in them.

I have just joined up! Hi Everyone, anyway down to business. I have a similar problem. it comes down to only when I download certain video files. I get lots of search results. Click on almost all of them and it just displays connecting and then more sources. Some video files I have no trouble with, some say this? I have clicked on almost every result and just says connecting or need more sources. Bitzi was unable to locate. With others have no problem any help would be great.

You know I scanned around on these forums and I came to a solution. There is alot of great information here. With the problem that I had asked help for. If you right click on the file you wish to download go to advanced look up bitzi information you will find out if the file is good or not. If you by chance find a file that has good reports then that is a real file, downlad it!! I tryed this after reading all the threads about it. I changed and modifyed my search to more specific words, then checked with bitzi. I found and downloaded the files that I wanted, I had tryed and given up on the files for awhile, until I used this. This works it really does. If the file is unknown then chances are its bogus!! click only on files that are registered with bitzi if you find a file that isn't and it works, then rate it and it will be marked. Thanks to all the men and women that have worked so hard on these forums to supply us with great information!!! Thank you again
Gordo
