What is the poblem... can anyone help overnight i went from a DL speed of 150KB/s to a speed of 1KB/s. I have downloaded and tried several other file sharing programs and they all suffer the same proformance problems. Can someone help me.... keep in mind if its on this forum under a headline that has anything to do with dowload problems I have already tried it. not the windows update not FAP not a problem with UPnP I have deleated .limewire directory not a firewall problem ***tell me what else you need to know to help plz thanks |
Download a file from here & see what kind of speed you get http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml Has your connection status stayed the same? How many green connection bars do you see? What are your details? OS(Win XP etc) LW & Java version (help > about LW & you'll see) Firewall you're using Modem/router brand & model ISP Connection type (DSL etc) Where you connect from (home, school etc) Are you sharing a connection with other computers Is this your first try with LW You're obviously using the UPnP option, have you also tried port forwarding? |
*My connection is always at turbo charged. *LW 4.12.6 *java 1.5 *no firewall execept for the one in my modem which according to my ISP tech support i cant disable or forward too. I dont think this can be the problem though since it has always been that way. *I have hughesnet (direcway) satelite ... speed test at testmy.net was 1071Kbps down and 177 Kbps up connecting from home *I was networked with my laptop but when i started having trouble i disconected the router to eleminated it as the source of the problem *I have been using limewire for almost a year and have had pro for about 3 months *I am using UPnP now but have used port forwarding as well I get a need more sources when i try to dowload a file from the link you provided *I havent been able to find anything that changed one day very fast DL speeds and the next practicaly nothing. |
with latest update firewalls are more of an issue |
