Default Windows Media Player Help

Everytime I finishe downloading an avi file and try to play it, Windows Media PLayer will say that it is compressed wrong or something. How do I change the players???

Try VLC media Player

Yes I have that player, I just need to know how to switch it to that player. Ive read the guides but Im still confused.

You don't need to switch, just do the following:

File > Quick Open File then from the Open File pop-up box (see attached screen print) click the *My Computer" button.

Then browse your files until you find your movie file, highlight it, then finally click the "Open" button.

Easy peasy.
