Remoc has a spectacular aura about
Default From Leaf To Ultrpeer And...

Good evening everyone! Quick queston. I went from leaf to ultrapeer and now when I try to download it just says its connecting and never connects. one time it said it was looking for hosts. There were alot of hosts on the song I was trying to download but nothing. Could the problem be that I don't have the speed to be an ultrapeer? Also will Limewire let any connection become an ultrapeer if you change the settings? I have a dsl connection. Just changed the settings to see if I had the capabilites of ultrpeer. Thanks in advance for any help!!

Sounds like you're trying to download a fake file. Is it a new release, or really popular file, with heaps of sources? Does it sit connecting for ages & then go to 'need more sources'? Search again. Vary your search terms, look for artist or album rather than song title. Try the All Types search. Stay away from files with heaps of sources, go for a file with 10 sources or less.
These fakes are common now & are a pain

Running as an ultrapeer shouldn't effect your ability to download. The network will choose you to be an ultrapeer if you meet the criteria & ultrapeers are needed. To become an ultrapeer, what's needed is a reasonably fast connection, high uptime & no firewall blocking. So, no... not everyone would be able to become an ultrapeer.

Hey Birdie Thanks for the reply!! I am very puzzeled because before I messed with the settings I have never had a problem with Limewire. I have been able to download just about anything I have tried. On this particular song I tried multiple bitrates and still nothing. 128,160,320, And in all I tryed about 6 or 8 different downloads. Anyway thanks again for your promt reply! Have a great nite
