Awaiting Sources

I have been trying to download some songs since last night, i left my PC on all night yet all im getting is awaiting sources???

how long does it need to await coz it is really annoying

i installed Limewire yesterday and managed to download without any hassle really then this started happening

is it worth getting the PRO version?

The "awaiting source" tells you that the host(s) of the file isn't online, or has moved the file, or deleted or renamed it. Since the network is global, you have to consider that some hosts are in defferent time zones getting on and offline at different times.
If you, however, try to download files with up to hundreds of hosts, you might not succeed because those files are mostly faked ones hosted by people that dislike P2P file sharing.

Whether it is worth to upgrade to LW pro,...hmm,... it will allow you to connect to 5 ultrapeers instead of 3 as well as it seems that the search results turn out to be better. The price of LW ($ 18.88, or the amount you send usually on a Friday night between 8-10 pm) is rather a symbolic price to help the developers to further develop the client. Without this, the whole network might have already broken down due to the increased use of it......

So basically you're saying if we do get 'awaiting sources' then we'll have to cancel it and look for another one because otherwise it'll just take forever seeing that the host has moved the file etc or it's a fake one?

Secondly are there any steps for us to prevent getting these 'awaiting sources?'

Thankyou!

I have used Kazaa and find limeware faster and better. But one of the downsides is always getting the awaiting sources button. In Kazaa, you would be able to tell Kazaa to search for more sources. In limewire, you only get to do it once, so when I have no downloads going (all are awaiting sources) I have to disconnect (which sucks for the upleaders). Then I get my DLs going again.

If only limewire would let you find more sources for a DL: it would be less frustrating for users, would solve your problem and would stop uploaders from losing their uploads (when you have to shut Limewire down to get more DLs going again).
