This "need more sources" problem that lots are getting

I have tried every single fix that was listed for this problem. I'm not behind a firewall, I can download songs from limewire, but then certain songs will not download. I'm not downloading fake songs, I have tried downloading from less than 30 hosts before..no go.

I work for my ISP, we do not block any ports that limewire run off of. I have seen countless people with this problem and no fix.

How do you know their not fake files....

Lagz September 22nd, 2006 03:56 PM

I have tried this on about 4 different songs that I have ran across and another person. I have tried to download every single copy of each song and they all come back with the same results "need more sources" I have tried to download about 100 versions of all combined songs. I doubt that every version from a 3 week span are fake files.

How many incomplete files do you have ??
If you have a large amount this can sometimes cause problems....
Try clearing some of them out and try the file again...

I'm not saying this is a fix, but worth a try...:rolleyes_2:

Been there, done that. That was the first thing I tried actually. Doesnt help the "need more sources" problem though.

I did get one song to finally download after 4 weeks of trying.

I right clicked on the search tab of the song, went to "search more" then get more results. I got a new result of over 127 people with the song and it downloaded.

So for anyone having this problem I'm gonna try it on the other songs to see if that helped. So you dont get the run around on this problem from reading 30+ FAQs.

Lets us know how you get on...:rolleyes_2:

hi
i am getting the same :"not enough sources" problem. i was wondering what you did to fix it as i know nothing to do with technology
thanks heaps

Lagz September 26th, 2006 08:01 PM

knowing nothing about technology doesn't have anything to do with reading the whole thread to find out the solution.

brunette-babe91 September 26th, 2006 08:14 PM

how do you know that 127 people have the song but? i cant find where it says that

In your Limewire search window, the column that has a # on it, shows the number of people that have that exact file.

When files won't download it is very often because the search has triggered spamresults instead of real results

Try looking through this guide for more tips on how to find what you are looking for

If you find thousand of results in your search then most likely most will be fake. Try those with just a few sources, or even modem users can be trusted here in this regard (highly unlikely to host fakes.)

Did some testing. There really are more fake files. Will look more into that "Get more results" idea that Lagz came up with

When I download the file it only downloads the movie trailer. What am I doing wrong

wondering why September 28th, 2006 11:08 AM

Check the file size, a movie shold be around the 700mb mark give or take 100mbs...:rolleyes_2:

Sleepless September 28th, 2006 11:37 AM

Just to add to what WW just said. If the filename says anything like Full Movie or New *actor* movie or Full Song or New Single and other things like that, the file is probably nothing of the sorts.

I have tried close to 800 MB files being a japanese dubbed trailer and then a black screen for 2 hours. And you know I don't get codec problems ;)
