Could you post make and model of graphics card and also how much RAM you have installed on your computer.

This really sounds like your computer is trying to compensate due to lack of resources.

Also look at your taskmanager while Limewire is running. On Windows it's Ctrl+Alt+Del to open it. See if the processes called Limewire.exe or javaw.exe are using up much of the CPU
