Trojan Wimad I am new to Limewire and am trying to download music but my antivirus protection is deleting every song I download and saying that each file has the trojan wimad attached and is corrupted. Can anyone help, I am sure that these music files can't all be infected. |
1 Attachment(s) Are they .wma files? Try searching again. Vary your search terms - look for artist or album rather than song title. Also try the all types search. If these files are .wma, look for an mp3 version & see if you still see the same thing. Stay away from files with huge numbers of sources, go for a file with 10 sources or less or even one with a single modem source:wink: Watch out for files that have strange looking titles (eg T_H_I_S and T*H*I*S). Use the extended tooltips...when you hover your mouse over a search result, you'll see title, artist, length etc. If the tooltips look weird (eg no length, if loads of files just show up as "track 01" etc) then leave those files alone. Check the file size compared to bitrate...songs with a higher bitrate will have a larger size (see attachment). If the file size looks all wrong then don't download those ones! |
